Discover Ottawa's hidden treasures. The City of Ottawa Archives are caretakers of Ottawa’s history, preserving original documents on behalf of past, present and future generations. Of 3 million photographs we currently have 10,000 images available online. This number will grow. We will provide online access to a wide range of materials including maps, architectural drawings and artifacts. The specialized reference library holds unique resources on the history and development of the City of Ottawa. Over 20 kilometers of records are kept in our climate-controlled vaults.
The City of Ottawa Archives is located at the James Bartleman Materials Centre at the corner of Tallwood Drive and Woodroffe Avenue.
